Best Australian Vacation at Mission Beach

By  |

Are you looking for a romantic location for your Australian vacation? Why not try Mission Beach, a small town in the Cassowary Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. The total population including the small villages surrounding is a little over 3,100 people, and the Great Barrier Reef guards the coastline.

Life is slow here, with some interesting sites such as Paronella Park, Clump Mountain National Park, and the Cathedral Fig Tree. The further I went into Northern Australia, the more I wanted to stay forever. Hands down, this was one of my favorite holidays. The sleepy beach town of Mission Beach was where I was the happiest.

Mission Beach

Mission Beach is unique because the location is spectacular and restaurants are small, casual, and intimate. It feels like Cape Cod during the low season, and it was high season for Australian holidays.

Each day started with an excellent breakfast at our warm and friendly hotel. I found it on Booking.com, and it lived up to everything promised. We stayed at Castaways Resort & Spa Mission Beach. The pool is small, but the view is fantastic. Sunsets here are spectacular and make it a romantic holiday destination. The cover shot (first photograph) is typical sunset from the hotel’s beach.

While we visited touristy sites such as Paronella Park and Clump Mountain National Park, most of our days were spent walking the beach, taking pictures of the shells and coral because you can’t remove them off the beach

Love the shells and coral on Australia’s beaches. I couldn’t take it home, so I took lots of photographs of the gorgeous beaches and shells.

This is where you might find a Saltwater Croc, so don’t be tempted to go in the water or get to close to the edge. The mirky water is really dangerous. Be Aware and Be on the Look Out for Crocs.

Beautiful Beaches

All of Australia has beautiful beaches. The Carribean, Florida, and Australia are my favorite beaches in the world.
